How strong UX and Digital Experience is going to change travel
Being an aviation geek and as a #userexperience designer I have been wondering how travel is going to look like in the near future? Once airports and borders start to reopen again, and people can fly freely. #Digitalexperiences and #automation are going to play a huge role in the future of air #travel in my opinion. Major #airports all over the world will be looking to reduce touch-points between passengers and employees and I believe airports and governments will make it mandatory to use #biometric boarding that allows passengers to board planes with only faces as their passports.
Similar to the video below, where a man uses face detection to pay for a can of pop. Similarly, our face will be the main biometric #touchpoint to confirm our #identity. I can see this rolling out for inter-state travel and travel in the Schengen region.
This digital transformation of our airports will also help in preventing passport fraud in my opinion.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how digital transformation will reshape travel in this decade.
